ModelGo Licenses Family

There are nine variations of ModelGo licenses, categorized from the most to the least permissive. They are grouped into Permissive Licenses, Conditional Permissive Licenses, and Stringent Licenses. Please select the one that best suits your needs.

Permissive

These licenses are sublicensable and irrevocable, with almost no restrictions applied to the derivatives.

Conditional Permissive

These licenses include some copyleft-style terms. Recipients can freely use and make derivatives as long as they comply with the specified conditional license terms of the original work.

Stringent

These licenses are non-free and contain strict redistribution restrictions, such as for non-commercial purposes only and/or prohibiting the sharing of derivatives of the original work. All rights (including Intellectual Property Rights) in any Derivative Materials shall automatically vest in and be owned by the Licensor.

The NoDerivatives licensing options prohibit any kind of sharing of model outputs, derivative models, and their outputs. These licenses can be used as proprietary licenses.

How to Apply the ModelGo Licenses to Your Model

Our licenses are reusable, meaning you can apply them without any modifications on terms. To declare the use of ModelGo licenses, you can include a license notice in your model. We recommend attaching the MG license text file in your project and presenting this notice information on your model card page or GitHub repository page.
