Research Assistant at the Institute of Data Science

 

Overview

The National University of Singapore invites applications for the position of Research Assistant in the Institute of Data Science, Kent Ridge campus. We are seeking highly motivated individuals to work on emerging AI and NLP research in interdisciplinary projects at IDS including customer service automation, mental health and cognitive decline, and conversational chatbots. Initial appointment is a contract for a year, subject to renewal.

Responsibilities:

• Design and write robust, readable, and reusable code components and applications to implement state-of-the-art research methods;
• Perform data engineering tasks including data cleansing and processing of real-world datasets;
• Assists with the editing and preparation of manuscripts, demos, reports and presentations;
• Participate in presentations and Show & Tell events.

 

Requirements:

• Masters in Computer Science with research experience in AI/Machine Learning/Natural Language Processing/Big Data;
• Demonstrable programming and application development skills with proficiency in Python and experience with deep learning libraries/LLMs;
• Self-motivated, pro-active in research and explorative analysis (ready to read and understand methodologies in research papers and reproduce results);
• Fluent in spoken and written English and a good team-player.
